The philosophy of Zen-K9 is to balance the owner with their pet and achieve a bond of loving trust. Zen-K9 uses the same behavior modification method as Cesar Millan, The Dog Whisperer. The owner must display calm assertive energy to “honor their purpose” and understand the way dogs relate to their natural environment, other dogs and pets. A dog’s purpose is to be  part of a pack; remember they are born in litters, thus you see Tibor Feigel, Lead Behaviorist, working with dogs in groups where he is better able to deal with their behavior issues and anxieties as they relate to each other. Zen-K9 staff uses the power of the pack led by calm assertive pack leaders.

Tibor Feigel, lead trainer and behavior specialist at Zen-K9 teaches handling to owners and obedience to dogs through exercise, discipline, correction and affection. (in that order) Ranging from puppy training to red-zone cases Zen-K9 specializes in separation anxiety, self confidence problems, fearful aggression, leash aggression, socialization and any specific issue your dog may have.  Zen-K9 offers one-on-one behavior training, boarding and Zen school –a daily outing with the pack providing physical and mental exercises and behavior modification.

Tibor, originally from Hungary, studied and received a B.S. in Animal Behavior and Human Psychology. Having worked with pets all his life; mainly dogs, he came to see that the basic steps of Zen Buddhism which he practices could also work for dogs. The ultimate goal of the Buddhist path to enlightenment is achieving a Zen balanced state of mind. He incorporates this into his teaching philosophy which creates a balanced state between the owner and his dog. “Many people have remarked that my dog groups look like meditation class.” Dogs live in the moment and if they are balanced we can learn how to be there with them, we can learn how to take stress out of our dog’s life and ours.
